SELF-STYLED
WELCOME!
After a brief hiatus, I've brought back my personal fashion, style, beauty and shopping blog with a few minor tweaks and changes. I felt it was necessary to start with brand new content which will include videos for reigstered users and more product reviews. As always, everything written on this website is based on my personal thoughts, experiences and opinions. Every product I write about is purchased by me unless otherwise specified. I created this website for my personal entertainment as a way to showcase my love for shopping and fashion. For more information, please go here.

Do you recall the Old Navy sandals I accidentally purchased a few weeks ago? Well, they’re great and all but the original style is from Seychelles.  You can always count on ON to have more inexpensive versions of popular styles of shoes (and clothing).

Anyway, I was browsing through Endless (after I had already placed my order for the Marc by Marc Jacobs key pouch!) and noticed the Seychelles Surprise Ending Sandals, in Mint Green, were on sale!  Wish I had noticed it the other day so I could have combined my orders but ah well, what can you do?

In any case, they arrived today and I have to say, they are pretty amazing. I ordered a 1/2 size up based on some of the reviewers who said they’re a bit snug and I’m glad I did because they fit really well.  And they’ll be even more comfortable once they’ve been broken in.  These are my first pair of Seychelles and my first pair of mint green colored shoes.  I’m going to have lots of fun pairing these sandals with outfits.  It’s a little late in the season to wear these but with our year-round sunny Southern California weather, anything goes heh.

When I placed my Old Navy order for the blazer and jacket (which I both love and can’t wait to wear once it gets cooler); I didn’t notice I had another item in my shopping cart – a pair of shoes. I honestly don’t know how I could have overlooked it or not noticed the total (clearly, I’ve got baby brain hah) but I’m happy about my accidental purchase!

I ordered these previously in another color (tan/beige) but they were pretty snug in my regular size. I don’t understand why ON shoes aren’t offered in 1/2 sizes – is that too much to ask?  I was really bummed because they were cute but, from my experience, ON shoes tend to be a hit or miss size wise.  I would have exchanged them for the next size up but my local Old Navy store didn’t even have them in stock yet (wtf is that about?) so I sent them back.  Anyway, I’m glad I was able to re-order them because now they are perfect! They’re now sold out and no longer listed on the website – go figure.

If you’re looking for a pair of cute and inexpensive sandals these would be a great purchase. And they’re comfortable, too! If you can find them in stores, I believe they’re only $29.95.  :)

EDIT 08.27.10 @ 7p

Btw and FYI, these Old Navy sandals are quite similar (ok they’re pretty much a direct copy hah) of the Seychelles Surprise Ending Sandals at a lower price point! ;)  Though, I do love the Mint Green version of the Seychelles sandals…

It’s always around this time of the year when I’m wishing for Fall to come quickly. Seeing all the stylish options for outerwear always gets me in the mood for overcast skies and chilly temperatures.  I was browsing Old Navy online and spotted two things I “needed” to add to my wardrobe.

The Lightweight Moto Jacket in Carbon which is a style of jacket I’ve been looking for. I like the “rugged-ness” of it. Since it’s a little menswear-ish, I can’t wait to wear it with dresses and other super frilly tops.  This is a great piece to tone down a dressy outfit or amp up a casual one.

The other item I had to get was the Boyfriend Blazer in the Rolled Oats color.  I have tons of blazers but nothing like this one. I didn’t get into the boyfriend blazer trend last year because I didn’t see any that really stood out to me until now.  I love the rolled sleeves with the striped lining and the color is a great neutral that will look fab with just about anything.

Both of these outerwear options are classic without being boring.   What’s more, I was able to save 20% off and get free shipping due to a promotional email I received a couple days ago. Gotta love that! ;)
