SELF-STYLED is my personal fashion, style, beauty and shopping blog. For as long as I can remember I’ve loved and have been interested in all things related to fashion, style and beauty. When I was younger I’d save up my allowance and pick up a new top, dress or accessory at my favorite stores. Now I pour over fashion magazines, follow my favorite designers on Twitter and enjoy browsing through Flickr fashion/style groups for every day inspiration.
It all started with a group shopping blog owned and maintained by me called Shopaholix.com (ShopX). That blog was created to showcase my (and my friends’) shopping adventures and random hauls.
Over time, I wanted a website of my own that reflected more of my personal style and interests and that’s when I created Self-Styled. I wanted to write about designers I love as well as review new collections from various designers. I feel fashion and style is not just about checking out other people’s hauls, it’s about discovering new products and sharing my holy grails.
Not only do I run Self-Styled but I’m also an occasional contributor (or co-editor) for my friend Dexie’s site, Style and Flair. For about a year and a half, I was also a pro-blogger (for b5media) and wrote numerous articles in the gifts, handbags, shoes, beauty, skincare and hot deals categories. That was when my love for all things related to fashion blossomed. You can say I found my niche. I connected and discovered other fashionistas, fashion bloggers and independent designers.
My personal style definitely leans more towards the classics. Although I love bargain shopping (mostly for clothes and shoes), I tend to invest my hard-earned money on handbags and jewelry that will last a lifetime. Shopping is one of my favorite pastimes but it definitely does not overtake my priorities. As a new mom-to-be, I’ll be even more diligent with how and where I spend my money.
I enjoy all things related to fashion and beauty and love to experiment with different products and looks. Self-Styled will showcase what I love about fashion, style and beauty. You’ll find product reviews, face of the days (FOTDs), shopping hauls, outfit of the days (OOTDs) and such. Due to personal and privacy reasons, some of the entries will be available to registered users only and access will be given at my discretion.
