Day 04 : Do you like wearing foundation? (If so, what’s your favorite and shade?)
Yes, I do. My preference is sheer to medium coverage. Currently, I’m using L’Oreal True Match Super Blendable liquid foundation and I must say, it has been pretty awesome. My shades are N4 Buff Beige and N5 True Beige and I also have W4 Natural Beige and W5 Sand Beige. I have different shades because I custom blend to match my skintone as I’m sort of in the middle of neutral and warm (go figure!).
The foundation itself really is “super blendable” and it hasn’t given me any problems as far as breakouts or other issues and my skin is pretty sensitive. I apply it with a damp sponge for lighter/sheer-er coverage as I don’t need very much. The formulation isn’t oily or thick, it’s just right. Also, there is no fragrance to speak of and there’s the added benefit of the SPF – love that!
Since becoming pregnant and having a baby, my skin has gone from oily to normal/dry. I’m pretty happy about that because I hated having to deal with my makeup smearing off at the end of the day. These days, I don’t even need blot powder – love it! The L’Oreal True Match foundation has been really good in that department. It gives a nice, natural finish to my skin and I don’t necessarily have to set it with a powder. I also love that it’s a drugstore brand thus making it easily accessible and nice on the wallet. ;)

Day 03 : Favorite brand of makeup.
Hard question! If you took a quick look at my current makeup collection you’d think I’m a huge MAC fan but it’s just one of the many brands I like. I’m an equal opportunity cosmetics junkie, heh. I love to experiment with different products and pretty much shop across the board from high end to drugstore. Though, once I do find a great product that works for me and my skin, I’m loyal to it.
I don’t have one favorite brand of makeup but I have all sorts of products that I love from the following brands: Nars, Make Up Forever, Urban Decay, Stila, Benefit and of course MAC. As for drugstore products L’Oreal is one of my favorites as well as good old CoverGirl followed by Rimmel and NYX.

Day 02 : How did you learn to put on makeup?
Through a lot of trial and error! During my middle and high school years (back in the late 90s, heh), I was subscribed to Seventeen magazine and a few other “teen” magazines. They were quite helpful with tips, tricks and techniques. Also, as I mentioned in my previous post, I basically only used lip products and pressed powder. It wasn’t until my Junior year of high school that I got into such things like foundation, liner and eye shadows (very minimal). I wasn’t one to put on loads of makeup for school, just the basics. Upon looking back at my high school photos, I did wear a lot of red lipstick heh. My go-to shade was Revlon’s Toast of New York lipstick and I still have a soft spot for it.
I also didn’t really get into full on makeup (that is, checking out tutorials and buying/collecting high end makeup) until my 20s. Sure I like to experiment with different looks but in the end I’m more of a neutral/natural makeup kind of girl. I don’t like to have a full face of makeup on unless I’m going somewhere special. These days, I enjoy checking out tutorials on YouTube as well as the tried and true fashion and beauty magazines for inspiration and application techniques.
